beauty shoot

Here are some images from a recent beauty shoot of Anna Catherine. Hair and makeup by Monique Albritton.

My goal was to create interesting but clean images. The shoot was in my studio using a Nikon D300, 85mm f/1.4 and strobes modified with a gridded beauty dish and gridded soft box/strip box. Enjoy!

Workshop Shoot

(UPDATE: new Snapshot Syndicate photo site.)

I attended a workshop held by the Snapshot Syndicate meetup group in New Jersey last weekend. It was a lot of fun and I got a few nice images.

These were shot with my Nikon D300 with my 35mm f/2 and 85mm f/1.4 lenses. Enjoy!

new studio shoot

I just finished processing some images from my lastest studio shoot. We used a number of different lighting setups to create different looks for the images.

The model, Erica, did a wonderful job with different types of poses. You can see some more of the images in this slideshow on my Flickr page.

studio shoot

I had a chance to do a studio shoot last week with a model who designs her own clothing line.

I used both my new ringflash and a medium softbox as key lights, depending upon the shot. For capture, I had my usual assortment of prime lenses (35mm, 50mm and 85mm) with my Nikon D300.

This was a true collaboration between myself, the model (Chloe) and a makeup artist (Tanisha-Faye). Enjoy.

Studio Shoot

Studio shooting can be fun. Here are some images from a headshot session I did in New York City last week in some rented space.

For lighting, I used Nikon SB-800 (and one SB-600) flashes on stands with umbrellas and some other modifiers against a white seamless background. The model, Kaydence, did a wonderful job. If you want to see more of her work, you can find her modeling portfolio here.

There's a mix of moody and colorful shots. You can see the whole shoot here in the gallery section of my farrell kramer digital images site. Enjoy!
