sunset in lower manhattan
Submitted by farrell on Fri, 02/29/2008 - 12:35pm.I took some HDR shots yesterday at sunset from lower Manhattan looking across the Hudson. Each is built from 5 exposures made with my Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens.
Hope you like them.
Scary Night
Submitted by farrell on Sat, 01/05/2008 - 4:00am.Here's an image I took on a cold night five days before Christmas but only just got around to processing.
I recently learned some Photoshop techniques to address perspective problems that allowed me to fix this image and turn it into something special. Shot with my Nikon 18-200mm VR lens at a focal length of 20mm and looking up at the sky, I ended up with all the building tops converging in the center due to the upward tilt of the lens.
However, using the lens correction filter in Photoshop CS3, I was able to change the perspective to straighten the buildings out and render them as they really appeared. Then, a little processing fun with color and texture and I was done. Hope you enjoy it!
Reindeer Limo
Submitted by farrell on Sat, 12/22/2007 - 4:00am.I was goofing around with my D200 in New York City the other day and came across this very festive limo. Thought it would make a good holiday image.
Enjoy.
