I just started playing with HDR (high dynamic range) and tone mapping and thought it would be perfect for an image I captured of a fireplace a few weeks back.

This isn't a true HDR as I created three exposures from a single RAW file, but I really like the technique and will be shooting some true HDRs in the near future.

I used Photomatix to combine the three exposures and do the tone mapping and then completed the processing in Lightroom. Lemme know what you think. I pushed reality a bit on this one, but wanted to demonstrate the power of the flames, which I heightened by capturing them with a slow shutter speed.
