Fashion Pics
Submitted by farrell on Fri, 05/16/2008 - 5:50pm.I attended a fashion workshop last week in New York City given by Bruce Smith, a well-known British fashion photographer.
The workshop was a great deal of fun and I learned a lot.
Below are some of my favorite images from the 4 days. Overall, I shot more than 2,000 frames with my Nikon D300, using primarily my 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. If you'd like to see more, I've built a Flickr slideshow.
Workshop Shoot
Submitted by farrell on Mon, 04/28/2008 - 5:16pm.(UPDATE: new Snapshot Syndicate photo site.)
I attended a workshop held by the Snapshot Syndicate meetup group in New Jersey last weekend. It was a lot of fun and I got a few nice images.
These were shot with my Nikon D300 with my 35mm f/2 and 85mm f/1.4 lenses. Enjoy!
studio shoot
Submitted by farrell on Tue, 02/12/2008 - 12:18am.I had a chance to do a studio shoot last week with a model who designs her own clothing line.
I used both my new ringflash and a medium softbox as key lights, depending upon the shot. For capture, I had my usual assortment of prime lenses (35mm, 50mm and 85mm) with my Nikon D300.
This was a true collaboration between myself, the model (Chloe) and a makeup artist (Tanisha-Faye). Enjoy.
fashion show shoot
Submitted by farrell on Fri, 02/08/2008 - 12:18am.Last night, I shot a fashion show at New York University called "Jhalak: A Night of South Asian Fashion and Flair."
Beforehand, I was able to place two Nikon SB-800 flashes to camera right and left (one clamped to a balcony railing and the other on a stand) and point them at the spot where the models would stop before turning around. I attached PocketWizard radio triggers. So, when they hit that spot ... I had my shot.
I used my new Nikon D300 and my trusty Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. If you want to see the entire gallery, I've posted it here, on our site forums.
Boat Basin Shoot
Submitted by farrell on Tue, 10/30/2007 - 3:00am.I did a shoot at the 79th Street Boat Basin in Manhattan last week and got some nice images, despite a rainy day.
I was once again fortunate to have a great model to work with. If anyone's interested in finding out more about Ilona, check out her modeling portfolio. We got a number of different looks by being creative with the location, which offered some good covered and indoor shots.
Additional photos from the shoot can be found in my farrell kramer digital images galleries. Enjoy!
